In short
Mayor Dave Maughan writes about the city website and the services residents can handle there instead of calling or visiting City Hall. He highlights the “Report a Concern” form, the “Notify Me” notification signups, online business license and permit applications, meeting agendas and minutes, and an interactive development map. He says he still meets people who do not know how much can be done online. The column lists no dates or deadlines.
Everything else
- The mayor writes that the website is not new, and that the city redesigned it a few years ago to communicate better and has kept simplifying it.
- “Report a Concern” was moved to the home page because it is one of the most used services. The form routes a notice to the right staff automatically and is visible to others who back up whoever gets the alert. It can be used for code enforcement reports and Public Works requests.
- The “Notify Me” service lets residents sign up for notifications on specific events and announcements, or on general city information, and change those选 choices later.
- Most building services offer paperwork online, so the mayor writes there is no longer a need to come into City Hall for updates. Business license applications and permit paperwork can be submitted online, with application status updates.
- Meeting agendas and past minutes are posted on the site, and the packet describing every agenda item is published before each meeting. The mayor calls this the best transparency possible.
- An interactive map shows approved and ongoing development, which the mayor writes has been popular since it was created.
