In short
Starting November 15, you cannot park on the street between midnight and 6:00 AM, and that rule holds until March 15. Street parking is also prohibited any time it is snowing during the day, and fines apply whether or not snow is falling. After a storm ends, sidewalks need to be cleared within 24 hours, and snow from your driveway or sidewalk cannot be put in the street. Green waste pickup ends November 30 for the season.
Dates and deadlines
- November 15, 2024: Overnight street parking ban takes effect, midnight to 6:00 AM, enforced with fines under City Code 11-20-050.
- November 30, 2024: Last day of green waste curbside collection for the season.
- December 1, 2024: Green waste containers may be used for regular household waste through March 31.
- March 15, 2025: Overnight parking ban ends.
Everything else
- Clear snow and ice from your sidewalk within 24 hours after each storm ends.
- Do not deposit snow removed from a driveway or sidewalk into the street. Snow removed from the street itself may be placed in the gutter. This is ordinance 4-05-160(c)(C).
- Keep gutters and storm inlet grates clear of leaves, grit, and debris so storm drains can drain and flooding is prevented. Public Works asks residents to check on neighbors who may need help raking or sweeping.
- The Green Waste Program is voluntary curbside collection of lawn clippings, leaves, and clippings from bushes and shrubs. To sign up, contact Utilities or submit an online fix-it request.
